I've made some major improvements to the website and Shopping List/Price Book app that will be rolled out in the following stages due to the review time needed by Apple for apps in the iTunes store:

1) Update the website
2) Update the Shopping List and Price Book app
3) Update the Price Book app

I've updated the website with the changes below and have updated the Shopping List and Price Book app and submitted it to Apple for approval. Once the new Shopping List and Price Book app, version 1.3, is released by Apple and appears to be working fine, then I will update the Price Book app and submit it to Apple.

The changes that have been made are:

A) Added Barcode scanner to the app on the device which scans in the barcode, but the user has to enter the item name and package size. This information will be uploaded to the website for everyone to use, and can be edited by anyone in the Wiki mindset.
B) Barcode information can be edited on website.
C) Added package_size to app and website, so quantity now represents the number of packages and package_size refers to the number of units in the package. With people's existing prices on the website, I've moved the quantity amount into the package size and made the quantity = 1. When prices are downloaded to the existing versions of the app, the quantity will show up as = 1, but the package size will be used to calculate the unit price.
D) fixed bug where if prices were for zero value, the "Make Lists" button would create per store lists incorrectly in the Shopping List app.
E) made unit price 3 decimal places.
F) fixed duplicate items & prices on device and website when changing item name - This duplicate item/prices creation should be fixed for good.
G) fixed duplicate prices on device and website when editing price on device or website and transferring to the opposite entity.

As we go through this transition period, please let me know of any problems or issues you encounter.

Thanks,

Jim
